In the area of low light performance, the JVC GZ-HM1 provides superior results thanks to a new CMOS sensor that boosts sensitivity to four Lux. JVC made improvements in camera shake compensation at wide angle performance. Most stabilization efforts focus on high zoom ratios, but camera shake also occurs at wide angle settings, especially when the camera user is moving along with the subject. JVC uses prism technology in the GZ-HM1 to provide effective results at the wide-angle end of the zoom range.
